Harmeet Singh
A slow left-arm orthodox spinner with no hesitation to flight the ball, Harmeet Singh has steadily risen through the ranks in domestic cricket.
Even before stepping his foot into first-class cricket, the youngster had already led Mumbai at the Under-16 and Under-19 level, along with being the first recipient of the Ramakant Achrekar Scholarship. A memorable debut followed, as Harmeet bagged a seven-wicket haul in an easy win over Himachal Pradesh. In only his third first-class game, he had his maiden fifer. By the time he turned 19, Harmeet already had two World Cups under his belt. However, in his first, he proved to be extremely expensive. Two years later, the Mumbai lad bounced back to deliver at an economy rate of 3.02, and was instrumental in India's title win in 2012.
In 2013, Harmeet was bought by the Rajasthan Royals for the sixth IPL season.

There is nothing spectacular about his right-arm medium-pace bowling, and his figures after his first season in the IPL suggested so: three wickets in seven matches and an economy rate of 8.40. But by being aware of his limitations, he extended himself and eventually his bowling was a crucial factor in the semi-final and the final. His seven overs in those two matches went for 38 runs and got him two wickets, and a running catch from him proved to be the decisive turning point in the final that his team won. Delivering with a still head, equipped with a loopy delivery, strapped with a big heart to flight the ball, Harmeet Singh attracted instant praise from coaches and players alike. The former Indian batting stalwart Dilip Sardesai compared Harmeet to his contemporary and spin legend Bishen Bedi the first time he witnessed the Mumbai youngster in action. By 19, Harmeet had featured in two Under-19 World Cups. In his first attempt, in 2010, he proved far too expensive for the team management to retain him in the team regularly. Hungry and resilient to prove his worth two years later, his economy rate of 3.02 was one of the best, despite him missing a couple of matches due to being sick. Importantly, he was one of the main pillars of India winning the title. Spotted by Shivaji Park Gymkhana as a nine-year-old, Harmeet was coached by the likes of Padmakar Shivalkar, the former Mumbai left-arm spinner, and Praveen Amre, the former India batsman and ex-Mumbai coach at the academy. He was also the inaugural recipient of the Ramakant Achrekar Scholarship when he was 16. Har
