Bisi Adeleye-Fayemi
Bisi Adeleye-Fayemi was appointed as Visiting Senior Research Fellow at the African Leadership Centre in 2017. She is a leading practitioner on the Centre's Practice of Leadership programme.
Bis is a feminist thinker and activist, writer, social entrepreneur, policy advocate and social sector expert. She is currently Principal Partner at Amandla Consulting, specialising in leadership development for women, and runs an online community called Abovewhispers.com, in addition to her role as a UN Women Nigeria Senior Consultant.
She served as the Director of Akina Mama wa Afrika (AMwA), an international development organisation for African women based in London from 1991-2001, where she established the African Women’s Leadership Institute that has trained over 6,000 African women leaders.
She co-founded the African Women's Development Fund, (AWDF) – the first Africa-wide grant-making foundation for women and served as the first Executive Director from 2001-2010.

With a PhD in War Studies from the University of London, specializing in civil-military relations, as well as first and second degrees in History, Politics and International Relations from both the University of Lagos and Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, the Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi has traversed several professional callings, excelling in them all. As a co-founder and manager of ‘Radio Freedom’, ‘Radio Democracy International’ & ‘Radio Kudirat’, during the era of the late General Sani Abacha, Fayemi played a critical role in the pro-democracy movement that eventually led to military disengagement in 1999.
Governor Fayemi is a Fellow of the Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies, University of Ibadan, Adjunct Professor of Security Studies at the African Centre for Strategic Studies, National Defense University, Fort McNair, Washington, D.C., USA. He was also a Visiting Professor in the African Studies Programme at Northwestern University, Evanston, USA in 2004. Dr Fayemi serves on numerous Boards in Nigeria and across the world.

Nigerian activist and writer (born 1963)
Bisi Adeleye-Fayemi (born 11 June 1963) is a Nigerian-Britishfeminist activist, policy advocate, social change philanthropy practitioner and writer.[7]
She was first lady of Ekiti State, Nigeria. She is the wife of Ekiti State governor Kayode Fayemi from 2010 to 2014 and from 2018 to 2022.[8][9]
Fayemi is the founder of Above Whispers Media Foundation and writes a weekly column called Loud Whispers at the website Abovewhispers.com.[10][11][12] She set up a mentoring program called The Wrapper Network. She was a UN Women Nigeria Senior advisor (2017–2018) and is a Visiting Senior ⁶Research Fellow at the Africa Leadership Center, King's College London.[13][14]

She has a BA (1984) and MA (1988) in history from the University of Ife, now the Obafemi Awolo[8]wo University, Nigeria.[15] She received her MA in Gender and Society (1992) from Middlesex University, UK.[16]
