Bob Dylan (born Robert Allen Zimmerman, May 24, 1941) is an American singer-songwriter, artist and writer. He has been influential in popular music and culture for more than five decades. Bob Dylan Now: Timothée Chalamet Portrays Singer in New Biopic A Complete Unknown

Bob Dylan is the subject of the new biopic A Complete Unknown, with Oscar-nominated actor Timothée Chalamet portraying the music legend. Based on the Elijah Wald bookDylan Goes Electric!, the movie chronicles Dylan’s rise to fame as a folk musician in the early 1960s to his first folk rock concert with electric instruments at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival. A Complete Unknown began showing in Imax on December 18 ahead of its wide theatrical release December 25.

Although Dylan wasn’t directly involved the movie, director James Mangold told Rolling Stone in November 2024 he had a major influence on the screenplay. The music legend offered feedback on the script and even wrote dialogue.

Ahead of its release, the 83-year-old expressed excitement for the movie and praised Chalamet’s acting chops. “Timmy’s a brilliant actor so I’m sure he’s going to be completely believable as me. Or a younger me. Or some other me,” Dylan posted on X.

Biograph is a compilation spanning the career of American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan, released on November 7, 1985, by Columbia Records. Consisting of 53 released and unreleased tracks from 1962 to 1981, the box set was released as a five-LP set, a three-cassette tape set, and a three-compact disc set. Biograph reached No. 33 on the Billboard 200 in the U.S. and has been certified platinum by the RIAA.[6]

The recordings on Biograph are a mix of rarities, hit singles, and album tracks. They are not presented in chronological order; 18 of its 53 tracks had not been previously issued, and three more had only been previously available on singles. Every studio album released by Dylan prior to the appearance of this box set is represented by at least one track, with the exceptions of Self Portrait, Dylan, Desire, Infidels, and Empire Burlesque, although two songs from Desire appear in live versions and "Abandoned Love" is from the Desire sessions.
