Shaykh As Sayyid Adnan Kabbani

Sheikh Adnan hails from the 40th generation of the Ahlul Baith family of beloved Prophet Sallallahu Alaihiwasallam.

He is a member of a respected family of traditional Islamic scholars, which includes the former head of the Association of Muslim Scholars of Lebanon and the present Grand Mufti of Lebanon.

He holds a degree in Islamic Divine Law, and under the tutelage of Sheikh Abdullah Dāghestānī license to teach, guide and counsel religious students in Islamic spirituality from Sulthan al Awliya Sheikh Muhammad Nāzim, the world leader of the Naqshbandi-Haqqani Sufi Order.

Sheikh Adnan has devoted his life to the promotion of traditional Islamic principles, such as peace, tolerance, and opposing extremism in all its forms.

Hisham Kabbani (28 January 1945 – 4 December 2024) was a Lebanese-American SunniSufi Muslim scholar belonging to the Naqshbandi Haqqani Sufi order. Kabbani has counseled and advised Muslim leaders to build community resilience against violent extremism.[1] In 2012, the Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Centre named him on The 500 Most Influential Muslims.[2]

Biography

Shaykh Kabbani was born in Beirut, Lebanon. Upon the order of Shaykh Nazim, Shaykh Kabbani relocated to the United States in 1990.[3]

Shaykh Adnan Kabbani was born 27 August 1947 (11 Shawwal 1366 AH) in Beirut, Lebanon, younger brother of Shaykh Hisham Kabbani. Like Shaykh Nazim al-Haqqani, he also studied Sufism under Shaykh Abdullah Fa'izi ad-Daghestani.[1][2]

He is an Islamic scholar and has a Bachelors degree in Engineering. Often outspoken against extremist Islamic views, he has worked tirelessly for many years to promote Sufism around the world.[3]

He died on 25.11.18 (17 Rabi’a l-Awwal 1440 AH) in Tripoli, Lebanon.[4]
