May Ellen Ezekial Mofe-Damijo (1956 - 1996) also known as MEE[1] was a Nigerianjournalist and writer who was the publisher of Classique magazine, a celebrity[2] and entertainment journal that has ceased publication. The magazine employed journalists such as Dele Momodu, Ben Charles Obi, and Rudolf Okonkwo.[3][4]
Mofe-Damijo also wrote a few books including Dream Maker and Center Spread.
Mofe-Damijo was born in Takoradi, Ghana to Owogbenu and Victoria Ezekiel. Between 1982 - 1984, she worked as a journalist for Sunday Concord. In 1985, she was an assistant editor for Newswatch and two years later, she became Editor of Quality magazine which has now ceased operation.[5] She produced and hosted a television talk show Mee and You on NTA 2 channel 5, Lagos before her death in 1996. After her first marriage which did not last,[6] she married Richard Mofe-Damijo, a Nigerianactor. She had a daughter named Nichole Onome from her previous marriage.[7 Board Member Richard Mofe-Damijo, popularly known as RMD, is a distinguished Nigerian actor, writer, producer, and former Commissioner for Culture and Tourism in Delta State. Born on July 6, 1961, in Aladja community of Udu Kingdom, near Warri, Delta State, he has become one of the most respected figures in the Nigerian entertainment industry. RMD’s acting career spans decades, featuring roles in both television series and movies. He gained widespread recognition for his role in the late 80s television soap opera “Ripples,” and since then, has starred in numerous Nollywood films. RMD’s contributions to the Nigerian film industry have earned him several awards and nominations, including the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role. His versatility as an actor is evident in his ability to embody a wide range of characters, making him a favorite among audiences and critics alike.
