Diana Canova is an American actress best known for being part of the ensemble cast of ABC's soap opera spoof, "Soap." Canova is the daughter of musician Filberto Rivero and singer/actress Judy Canova. Canova grew up in the Los Angeles area and graduated from Hollywood High. Her first TV credit was in 1974, playing Richie Cunningham's extra tall blind date in an episode of the opening season of "Happy Days." In 1976, she appeared in "The First Nudie Musical," performing a number entitled "Perversion." In 1977, Canova was cast in as Corrine, the nymphomaniac daughter of Jessica Tate in the controversial prime time program "Soap." The show was a success over its four seasons, leading to her appearances on other ABC shows, including the drama series "Fantasy Island," the romantic comedy series "The Love Boat," and the game show"The Hollywood Squares." Urodziła się w West Palm Beach na Florydzie jako córka aktorki Judy Canovy i kubańskiego muzyka Filberto Rivero[2]. Dorastała w Wielkim Los Angeles[3]. Ukończyła Hollywood High School, a następnie studiowała aktorstwo w Los Angeles City College[3].

Debiutowała na telewizyjnym ekranie w sitcomie Dziewczyny Ozziego (Ozzie’s Girls, 1973) u boku Ozziego Nelsona i Harriet Nelson. W 1974 występowała w jednoaktówce na scenie Porterville Playhouse[2] w Porterville w Kalifornii. Od 13 września 1977 do 19 listopada 1980 grała postać Corinne Tate w kontrowersyjnym sitcomie ABCMydło (Soap)[4]. Early life

Canova was born Diane Canova Rivero in West Palm Beach, Florida, to actress and singer Judy Canova and Cuban musician Filberto Rivero.[1] She was raised in the Greater Los Angeles Area, where she graduated from Hollywood High School. Canova later studied acting at Los Angeles City College.[1]

Career

Canova made her television acting debut in a 1974 episode of Happy Days portraying a considerably taller date of Richie; in reality both she and Ron Howard are the same height at 5'9". She later guest-starred on episodes of Chico and the Man and Starsky & Hutch and appeared in television films. In 1975, Canova co-starred in the cult movie The First Nudie Musical along with Cindy Williams.
