Sir Anwar Pervez is a Pakistani-born British businessman and philanthropist. He was born on March 15, 1935, in a small village in Punjab, Pakistan. He is the founder of Bestway Group, one of the largest cash and carry groups in the UK.

Pervez migrated to the UK in 1956, where he started working in a bakery in Bradford. Later on, he moved to London and started working for an accounting firm. In 1963, he opened his first convenience store in Earls Court, London, which marked the beginning of his entrepreneurial journey.

In 1976, Pervez established Bestway Cash & Carry, which grew to become one of the largest cash and carry chains in the UK, with over 60 stores across the country. Bestway Group also owns a number of other businesses, including cement production, banking, and pharmacy.

Sir Anwar Pervez has been recognized for his contribution to business and philanthropy. He was awarded the OBE (Order of the British Empire) in 1992 and was knighted in 1999 for his services to the industry. In 2013, he was awarded the prestigious Queens Award for Enterprise in the International
