The Biography of Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk
Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk is a beauty to behold even at the age of 86 and her triumphant charm and grace is all attributed to her ancestry.
Her father, Jean-François Izzi, was a French banker of Corsican, French, and Italian descent who was the Director of Crédit Foncier in Saigon and was killed in World War II, while her mother, Pomme Peang, was from Phnom Penh. She was born on June 18, 1936 in Saigon, French Indochina, which is now Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk was the wife of late King-Father Norodom Sihanouk and was queen consort of Cambodia from 1993 until 2004. She is now the widow of late King-Father Norodom Sihanouk, whom she married in 1955. King Norodom Sihamoni, who ascended to the throne in 2004, and Prince Norodom Narindrapong, who died of a heart attack in Paris in 2003, are their two sons.
She is known as Queen Monique and was born Paule-Monique Izzi. “Samdech Preah Mahaksatrey Norodom Monineath Sihanouk” is her full title.

Norodom Monineath Sihanouk (Khmer: នរោត្ដម មុនិនាថ សីហនុ, pronounced[nɔroːtɗɑmmɔniːniətsəjhanuʔ]; born Paule Monique Izzi; 18 June 1936) is the Queen Mother of Cambodia. She was Queen of Cambodia from 1993 to 2004, as the wife of King Norodom Sihanouk. She is the widow of King-Father Norodom Sihanouk, whom she married in 1955 as the "secondary consort" (Sihanouk married his official wife, Norodom Thavet Norleak, as the "first lady" also in 1955, before being married to Monineath). After Sihanouk and Norleak divorced in 1968, Monineath became the official spouse of the King.
Queen Norodom Monineath Sihanouk and King Norodom Sihanouk had two children: Norodom Sihamoni and Norodom Narindrapong; both were born before their parents married. Her official, full title is "Samdech Preah Mahaksatrey Norodom Monineath Sihanouk" (Khmer: សម្តេចព្រះមហាក្សត្រី នរោត្តម មុនិនាថ សីហនុ). Norodom Monineath Sihanouk (Khmer: នរោត្ដម មុនីនាថ សីហនុ; geboren als Paule Monique Izzi; * 18. Juni1936 in Saigon, Französisch-Indochina) ist die Königinmutter von Kambodscha. Sie war von 1993 bis 2004 Königin von Kambodscha und ist die Witwe von Norodom Sihanouk. Sie heiratete Norodom Sihanouk 1955 als „zweite Gemahlin“. Nach der Scheidung von Sihanouk und seiner Erstfrau Norodom Thavet Norleak im Jahr 1968 wurde Monineath die offizielle Ehefrau von Prinz Sihanouk.
Leben

Ihr Vater, Jean-François Izzi, war ein französischer Bankier, der Direktor einer französischen Bank in Saigon war und im Zweiten Weltkrieg fiel. Ihre Mutter, Pomme Peang, stammte aus Phnom Penh. Sie besuchte eine französische Privatschule in Phnom Penh.[1] Norodom Sihanouk lernte sie 1951 kennen, als er ihr den ersten Preis bei einem Schönheitswettbewerb verlieh.[2] Ab April 1952 lebten sie zusammen und heirateten am 5.
