Moon Banerjee (Moon Banerrjee, Moonmoon Banerjee) is an Indian television actress and model who works in Hindi TV serials and commercials. Moon was born on 23 April 1969 in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. She was raised in Jamshedpur initially, after which her family relocated to Mumbai. Her acting career was set in motion at a slow pace when she endorsed several brands through television commercials. However, she was cast as an actress in 1997 for the television series Saturday Suspense, where she portrayed the role of Neha. Making a transition after 1999, she was signed for the role of Ruhi Kapoor in the daily soap opera Kkusum, which aired on Sony TV. However, recognition and limelight knocked on her doors in 2005, when she starred in the popular television series Kasauti Zindagi Kay. Alongside this, she also bagged a place in the longest television series in the country, Kyuki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, from where her career started going uphill. Moonmoon Banerjee, also known as Mahua,[citation needed] is an Indian television actress who was recognized for the role of Sampada Basu in Ekta Kapoor's soap Kasautii Zindagii Kay on Star Plus. Additionally, she acted as Panna in Sasural Genda Phool, as Asha Bose in Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi[1][2][3] and as Damayanti in Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani.[citation needed] Banerjee most recently starred on Star Bharat's Muskaan, where she played Gayatri Singh. She also played Uma Rawat in Muskuraane Ki Vajah Tum Ho.[citation needed]
Personal life
Banerjee is married to producer Neeraj Sharma since 2010 and they have a son named Rumeer Sharma who was born on 6 April 2012.[citation needed]
